The new version of the Daily Mail app is shockingly bad. The articles don't seem to update properly, and when they do, certain articles seem to always be at the top or near the top. The previous app was alot simpler and visually looked better. *Update* my god, could this app get any worse... To add to the above problems, the app now constantly crashes. Pathetic app

Doesn't refresh stories on Pixel 4a with Android 11 even if installed from scratch with default settings Works on older versions of Android Looks as if it won't refresh except over wi-fi. Same problem with android 13 - except the refresh occurs randomly over WiFi and not at all over 4g. As an experiment I checked the app on several phones from scratch. Unsurprisingly they all displayed different stories even with the same settings.

Long time reader, but the ads are absolutely ridiculous and over the past year or so it has drifted very "right" and focuses on "anti-woke" and pro conservative politics. I'm Independent and prefer both sides, not just the right. I miss the days when the top articles were actually "breaking news", rather than just celeb drama and political slander. The editing is awful as well, but it has always been something I could overlook...but now there are more negatives than positives.

The app used to work well but it has become super buggy over that past year or so, and shows an excessive amount of ads. I find it really frustrating when I attempt to click on an article after closing a full page ad but instead of it loading the article I wanted it loads the news article from the top of the page. So I have to close that article and find the one I wanted and pray it's not going to force me to look at another full page ad.

**UPDATED REVIEW** The material I wrote before still applies. There was a recent update to the app and it somehow took away the ability to comment and interact with other readers on some topics. This was one of the reasons I kept the app. Please change! The ads are getting increasingly worse. The ads are often stories you're actually already reading. Even their actual website doesn't run well bc of this. Definitely would use this app more if they decreased that and made this more -friendly.

My favourite place to come and see intrusive video adverts. Annoyingly occasional news stories interrupt the constant stream but I'm sure the developers will soon get rid them. Viva ments! Latest version is horrible, it now looks like a cheap news aggregation site. Well done daily mail, the ads were bad but now you've wrecked the content. One star is generous, I'd give zero if it were possible.

Popup ads take over phone. I've never seen an app totally hijack a phone like this one does. There is no rhyme or reason as to when you click on a story and the app is taken over by some sort of pop-up the only way to get rid of it is to close the app and force shut it

The new version of this app is terrible. The headlines are now less easy to see completely. The buttons have been placed in the opposite place to the previous version but worse is that they interfere with my phone's own hot keys. Please go back to the previous version
