An exceptional app for learning French. Highly structured, no ads. However, I do wish it would make you type letter accents for the writing portion. It's no use learning something improperly. For this reason, four stars and not five. Otherwise, an exceptional app that teaches French properly, meaning it actually teaches you grammar and syntax rules.

It has something no other language app has (that i have found and tried). REASONS for things. Why a consonant is pronounced or not pronounced, rules that give consistency for conjugations, all the little grammatical things that turn hard memorization into a simple set of rules applicable to the entire language... the app is simple, but it's one of the most effective i've found to date. I do like this so far. It explains out the rules of grammar and conjugations as you learn, which is something I've been craving for in a language learning app. The only thing that I have an issue with is the speech to text function, which I find often does not pick up on when you are fully saying. But I do understand that this function is provided by google, so I don't hold this against the app developer. I am thoroughly enjoying my time on this app, and I think I would definitely recommend it!

edit: it's a good app, i honestly would use it as a reviewer since duolingo doesn't have vocab practice (this app is less overwhelming). it just needs a few tweaks visual wise. i would still suggest giving this app a "gear" button to hide the functions so its less crowded to look at. also put familiar fonts like Arial. and like others say, it looks like a book. give the illusion that it's easy and there's not much to read. be generous with spacing that is all. thank you for responding

Really good experience to hear and read the words all at the same time with the option to make notes on each page. Having several languages in the choice option I can read and learn a language (French) both from my native tounge as well as from English. A magnifier may improve experience even further due to text appears a bit small but will try to magnify my handset if it helps with the app text.

Really good apps. Now I decided to purchase the full apps. I also love the latest updates, the ui look so fresh. Well I really hate the previous version, cause it's so old school. Note: please work the dark theme, the colors are really contrasting and really hurt my eyes. Also, give us the font option back with more variation? Btw I recommend twitter and instagram dark theme color tone.

I HIGHLY recommend this app!! It plays on the background! which I love bec it means I can also play my favorite classical music with it while I'm busy with what I'm actively doing.
