At first, the app looks great. Bright color and easy to use. But then, the app starts to send you millions emails of a saved search that you canceled a long time ago. Note that if in your profile you indicate a move in date you will not be able to set it as empty. You will have to choose another date. I had to remove and reinstall the app.

It is a shame but they don't really care about this app anymore after they got bought by Zillow. The searches do not sync with your profile and on the website. It was impossible to click on the activity button for months. This is now fixed. It doesn't save your likes. It used to be the best app around and now it's almost like it's abandoned.

No one answers requests to view apartments or information regarding apartments. I've requested tours of the apartments I'm interested in several times. I get no response. It's like they're there for show. Coincidently, this app, just like all the others, it is unprofessional, unreliable, and unproductive. It's such a shame.

Horrible app that allows unethical real estate agents to post fake pictures of apartments, and manipulation of days on the market to make old listings look new. Notifications are often either inaccurate or BS.

From my experience using the app to seek apartments the problem is the people advertising the apartment don't take the apartment off the street easy app when the apartment is rented. They also don't back to you when you email them. They also don't let you know if the apartment is on the first floor or elevator bldg

Update notifications are useless. Hard to see what changed in the listings you follow. I saved some searches and favorited some listings. I get app notifications all the time saying there are updates to one of my searches. But it doesn't tell me what changed. I'd go check my saved searches to see either "updates" or "all caught up" but either I can't tell what actually changed. Listings also show the latest change as "updated" so that's misleading because that could have been a month ago.

In general, streeteasy is great. The best apartment hunting app for NYC (and now NJ). I bumped off a star because the app is sometimes buggy. Some bugs have been fixed, but right now, I'm unable to to my profile (which I like to use because it gives me commute time from my place of work to potential apartment). That's one of my favorite features of this app, would be 5 stars if it was fixed! I still highly recommend.

Good app, good website, but I'm removing it today after receiving a notification that lead to a blog post. These notifications come around every so often, and it's annoying. Their sole notification setting is for receiving updates on your saved searches, and nothing else. I consider excess notifications tantamount to spam, so goodbye, StreetEasy.
