App Permission Descriptions:
Device & App History – Required for the new Media Controller feature to detect if a media player is able to accept media requests.
s/Calendar – This is required to setup a direct dial shortcut. Calendar is bundled with the permission.
Location – This is required to access the GPS for the speedometer, com, altimeter, weather, etc…
Phone – This is required for the Direct Dial shortcut.
Photos/Media/Files – This is required for the Debug Log feature. Photos & Media are bundled with the permission, the app doesn’t need those.
Camera/Microphone – The app will need the microphone permission for any voice activated features in the future. It is required right now for the media player visualization feature. Attaching to the audio stream requires the mic permission. Camera is bundled with the mic permission, the app doesn’t use the camera.
Wi-Fi Connection – The app needs this permission to enable/disable Wi-Fi.

UPDATE: Same unanswered question from 2022. Emailed developer 2x. Is there a method to backup and restore the data? Have a new phone and would like to keep my setup. Just a couple of suggestions for enhanced usability - 1) Allow to browse and select for icon file type(s) when creating a "shortcut popup", 2) Ability to press + hold on defined shortcuts so they can be "moved" to another position and/or screen.

Tried a few car dock apps but this beats all. Great features, and excellent auto-start options - turn on BT in the car and phone goes to car mode, turn off and it switches back, brilliant! June 2022: auto-start on BT connect no longer works on AOS 11. No updates for 3 years, is the author still ing the app?

Purchased this to replace the excellent, but now defunct iBolt Dock'n Drive app. Thus far, this app seems to be a reasonably worthy substitute, however, it does have drawbacks...more fiddly 2-step process to return to home screen from Google Maps navigation screen while driving, rather than being able to use home button of phone to return to Car Home Ultra home screen via single button push as with iBolt. Requires more time with eyes off the road while driving. Significant safety overlook IMO.

Good App, gets the basics done easily. My only real issues are no native voice commands and the biggest one, the fact that when I use it, I can't use my Sat Nav App, Sygic without it being forced into landscape mode. Unfortunately I can't position my phone in landscape in the car, there's simply no room. Makes Sygic unusable when launched from your app.

I've been using this app "stand alone" for years and more recent in conjunction with Android Auto without any problems. Unfortunately after installing the latest version it stopped playing nice with AA, the speed indicator has stopped working and sits at 00. It still works stand alone, not connected to AA. Anyone else seen this happen, is there a tweak to get it working again?

Truly useful app. From being a full 5 star app stops one thing only. Please make the pages number editable so that one can choose how many pages they want to see (there's no need for all of them to be visible if one wants only 3) And a suggestion please add an option to have two different media pages ie. one for one player (music) and the second one for an other player (audiobooks)

I have used this app for several years and through several phones, but the lack of updates has limited its usefulness. The music app is abysmal, especially since Google Play Music is dead. The link to maps/navigation is still good, and the speed information is helpful. Nice to be able to program the camera button on the home screen.

I had to uninstall and reinstall app, wipe cache, and then it started to not force close. Only bug, which is really annoying, left I came across is the volume of app/dashboard always lowers when I return to the home page of dashboard. Doesn't matter how I return to the app, it will lower the preset volume by about 1/4 from Max volume preset. Yes, I set volume to max in settings.
