Up until recently this app was so dependable, it counted every step I took. I may not have opened it every day, but when I would open it to update my mules for a distance challenge I'm doing, everything was there. Recently, I opened Pacer, and to my shock, weeks of data were missing. I walk every day with my phone and there was nothing to show for it. It now seems very sporadic and not dependable.

I wanted a basic step tracker, and this program used to be that. I'd rated it 5 stars then. Since then, they've gamified it with leagues that you can't exit. Also, you either have to open the app every morning or turn battery saver off. If not, the app stops counting steps. All of this triggers OCD in me. (I look at overall trends, not daily activity). Other step counters work in battery saver mode. I'll be using one of them from now on.

I've tried about 9 of these pedometer apps, and so far this is the best. The two biggest problems with most of them are constant (and un-closable) ads. Pacer has very few of these. The other problem is that most of these apps award me far more steps than I've actually taken (yes, I counted steps carefully). Pacer does give me a few extra steps each time, but way less than the 6-10% error rate I've found on other apps. The free version doesn't have a lot of bells and whistles, but that's ok.

This app could be better. I wish that it could connect with fitbit without having to pay. The google fit doesn't properly keep track of the steps or samsung health. Other than that, the app is great. I set up a walk challenge, which is going wonderful. But... I wish those who were in the challenge were automatically added to the group.

For some reason, since September 4, 2024, when you are doing GPS steps, notification and posts are not going to the phone notifications bar. I have sent to Pacer and it still hasn't been corrected. How can you run a group when you are NOT getting the notifications?? The pedometer step counting is decent. When Android finally gets dark screen capability and the notifications sent when on GPS it will be back to better.

Honestly, it's a great app. Not gonna lie. Sometimes it doesn't count the steps right a way. But that's not the point the reason I put 4 stars and not 5 cause, People using the app can interact with strangers. I am especially talking about kids. Young kids that have this app could interact with strangers. And their parents may not be agreeable and happy about that and could easily delete the app. You wouldn't want that. So, I will personally suggest to delete access to interacting with people.

As long as I don't have to an updated version of an app, then it's a great app..... When we have to the updated version of an app every time something changes, then that's bullsheet. Keep up being consistent, Pacer. You're helping a lot of people by not making yourself inaccessible.

ed the app and uninstalled without using. Unhappy that it forces you to opt into a one week free trial of a version which you can cancel without obligation. I'm not interested in the free trial, just want the free version. No thanks, I'll stick with other apps currently using.
